Hi Reader,
Guess what...?
This is my very first newsletter from Give Me Umami HQ!🎉
I’m honestly a bit nervous (pressing "send" feels like handing someone your bento box and hoping they like it 😅), but I’m even more excited to connect and grow a fun, cozy community together!
It’s been warming up (and getting a bit too hot!) here in Wisconsin lately.
I’ve been soaking in all the seasonal joys… pool days, juicy watermelon, lots of tomatoes and cucumbers, and spending more time outside when the weather’s kind.
If the weather’s nice where you are too, how about packing a little bento and enjoying a meal outside? It always feels so cozy and refreshing.
This week’s recipe is perfect for that kind of moment: Inari Sushi, a dish that’s just a little more special than regular onigiri, but still super easy to make.
🍳New Recipe: Inari Sushi (いなり寿司)
Inari sushi is a type of sushi made by wrapping sushi rice in inari age, seasoned deep-fried tofu pouches.
The sweet-savory flavor of the tofu pairs so beautifully with the slightly tangy sushi rice... it’s such a comforting combo. 💛
Bonus: it’s a great option for vegan and vegetarian friends too.
